About the Author:

Allen Wachter’s childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian came true when he received a degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 1981. After a successful veterinary career, Allen served as assistant professor at the Veterinary Science Department at the State University of Delhi. In 2001, he also became an associate pastor at the Liberty Free Methodist Church in Liberty, New York. In 2004, he took on the role of Senior Pastor at Horton Brook Free Methodist Church and soon began to work on the multiplication of churches in the Free Methodist Denomination.

While working as a pastor, Wachter experienced personal attacks on not only the ideas of multiplication, but on himself as well. He came to recognize that at the heart of the issue was a resistance to change, both in people and within the church. A mission’s trip to help plant a church in Zambia Africa became the source of inspiration for Dance of the Bees.

Book Review by Maqueda Sylvan April 25, 2012
Reviewer: Maqueda Sylvan from Delhi, NY United States
This is definitely an interesting tale with a title that foreshadows the book’s story beautifully. When worker bees return to the hive and have found a new location of flowers, they do a dance to show where other bees can find it. This dance is a bee’s form of communication and with out it a hive wouldn’t be able to prosper. In the book communication is key when the hive is attacked and it is realized that something needs to change in order for the hive to survive. Change is always a challenge for any age group. As kids it’s easier for us to deal with it, but as we grow older we tend to forget that some times it is for the best, especially when we get stuck in our ways. This story teaches the reader a valuable life lesson through the eyes of bees. I highly recommend this book to any age group and background, as any one can take something away from it.
