of the tales in Mom's Favorite Stories are
powerful in their simplicity, and their wit and humor transcend the words on

About the Author:
Born
July 4, 1908, Mildred Mumford was the eldest of three daughters. She was
blessed to be raised in a loving, Christian home. After marrying Louis Mumford
in the 1930’s, they went on to have their only daughter, Marilyn Ward, in 1942.
Always wanting a large family, they soon became foster parents. Mildred also
became a leader in a well known girl's club and was able to express her love
for children through that experience.
During
their sixty-four years of marriage, Mildred and her husband faced hardship and
illness, including cancer. She had a zest for life born out of a near death
experience. Out of her varied life experiences and observations, she formed a
collection of stories and poems for all ages. Her gift with words and her
analytical thinking make her stories easy and fun to read. Mildred’s personal
response to life lives on in her written memories.
